Homes and the Weather
For a keen gardener it is important to be aware of the great
difference between the north and the south of the island when
it comes to level of precipitation. The estate agents we work
with may well be cognisant of the facts, an important matter
you may well wish to raise with them.
A property along the South
coast might not be suitable, here it rains less than 400 mm/year
(Palma, Calvia and Campos).
In the North of the island >800mm/year
can be expected in Alcudia and Pollensa. This
is due to the influence of the mountains.
Sun lovers should consider buying a house
in the South. During the winter it is not unusual to have
unbroken sunshine for days in the south and at the same time
it is not to be seen in the North. |
